The one that took place in the Methodist Church on Wed nesday afternoon was no exception to tin rule. The edifice was nicely decorated w ith a floral arch and bell ; also the initials of the happy couple were suspended on thr arrh. ’1 Ire building was crowded with friends and spectators. The Kcv. J. A. S. Williams was the celebrant. The parties were Margaret Jane Muriel Car-thew. fifth daughter of Mrs. H. Carthew and the late Mr, Henry Carthew, of T.m-taiioola. who was united to Waller Christian Barnwell Haines, fourth son ulMr. aud Mrs. Thomas Haines, of Tanta-uoula. Tlie bride was attired in cream silk, trimmed with silk net aud insertion, with pearl rosettes on the should-dors. The train was trimmed with cream silk insertion and ribbon roses, which was held by the trambearers. The bride also wore the veil and wreath of orange blossoms. Miss Angelina Carthew, tho bride’s sister was chief bridesmaid. She wore dove colored silk voile, trimmed with grey silk net and insertion. Mis. Eflic Haines, sister of the groom, was second bridesmaid. Her dress was cream cashmere, trimmed with silk net aud insertion. The bride and bridesmaids earned shower bouquets. The trainbearers were Miss Ethel Haines, nr ice of the groom, who wore pale blue crepe do chine, trimmed with allover lace, and carried a basket of flowers, and Master Hoy Garland, the bride’s nephew, who wore cream cordcroy velvet, and carried a shepherd's crook. The groom was sun ported by his brother. Mr. Hanford Hamrs, and Mr Albert Carthew, brother going yf (he bride. The bride was given away by her brother. Mr. J. ||. Carthew. of Bcachport. After the errcmonv an ad-Jwrammt to the Institute was made,where afternoon tea was partaken of. and the usual toasts honored. In the evening the festivities were continued in the shape of games and dancing. Tho supper was held in the show building. Thmgs were kept going merrily untiljust after midnight. Mr. and Mrs. WalterHamrs were the recipients of numerous presents. The happy couple left uext d«y for Sandy Waterholex, on the River Ghnrlg. where they arc spending their honeymoon. The bride’s travelling ros-tume was of dark blue velvet, trimmed with oriental insertion, and dark felt sugar-loaf hat, with white plumes.
