One Hundred and Fifty-first Annual Closing of the Great University—The Junior Orator Yesterday. Princeton, N. J., June 11—The preliminary services of the 151st annual commencement of Princeton University were held today in Alexander Hall. The occasion was the an nual junior orator contest, four young men speaking for Whig Hail and four for Clio. The contestants and their subjects were: AlfredS. Weston, Maine, ‘‘A Plea forOp timism”’; James H. Harrison, New Jersey, “The Individual and the State’; Walter C. Erdman, Pennsylvania, “The Anti-Semitic Movement’; Wilson T. M. Beale, Pennsylva nia, ‘‘The Inevitable’; Nathaniel S. Reeves, New York, ‘“The Press, a Present Responsi bility’; Conover English, New Jersey, ‘“‘The Evolution of Liberty’; Jay R. Woodcock, Pennsylvania, “The Spirit of the Quaker’’; Edward T. Newton, India, ‘The ‘Foremost Civic Duty.” A large part of the commencement crowd is now present and the little town is being pressed to the utmost to entertain its visit ors. Tomorrow President Patton will preach the baccalaureate sermon in Alexander Hall.
