'Lt. Chas. Edgar Duncan Receives : Several Citations — In Major African Battles — Recovering From Wounds in Leg. Lt .Charles Edgar Duncan, sons of Attorney and Mrs. J. E. Dun can of this city, who was wound ed in North Africa on April 25th, according 10 information received by his parents from the War De partment, is recuperating very nicely. A letter from the Lieutenan to, his wife in Memphis, Tenn, dat ed May 16th, and forwarded to’ v big parents here, advised of his training health, and that he was removing some of the bandages. e Lieutenant received a shrap nel wound in his leg, but it is not considered of a serious nature. He was a member of a Medical De tachment attached to General Patton’s Armored Divison, and has seen action in most of the major battles of North Africa. According to letters to relatives here, he has received several ci tations, Including a Purple Heart, a merit of unusual distinction.
