June 10.—Great excitement prevails among the people of Kershaw over the finding of $103,000 in gold and other valuables, which were buried in that neighborhood twenty-four years ago. when Sherman's army was passing through South Carolina.The officers of the Camden bank collected the money and jewelry and brought it near Hanging Bock creek. Kershaw county, to bury it. They were -captured by Sherman's men and forced to give up their treasure.
