He enlisted August, ISG2, in Co. lLOtn 145th Reg’tP. V., and was in almost every engagement in which his regiment took part, Including those which resu! Led in the surrender of Lee at Appomattox. For nearly three years he faithfully served his eouutry,receiving nothing but the monthly wages of a private as Iris compensation.
