Well Known Funeral Di rector Succumbs Of Pneumonia Today. Wiliam Franklin Bast, funeral director at Boonsboro for the past 52 years, died at 4 a. m. today of Pneumonia, at his home in Boons boro, following a ten-day illness. He was 73 years of age and was the son of the late John H. and Margaret, BE. Bast, of Braddock, Md. A member of the ‘Boonsboro ,Latherap church, he was also a 32nd degree Mason. Three sons, John, Charles and Gerald, all of Boonsboro, survive, as well as these ‘daughters: Mrs. Albert G. Miller , and Mrs. Gwen B. Miller, both of Boonsboro, Louise and Madeline, both of Washington, D. C; also Eleven grandchildren. Funeral services at the home at; [s p. m. Saturday, the Rev. M. A. Ashby officiating. Interment in the mausoleum at Boonsboro cemetery. George W. Harper died at 9:30 a. mm. today at his home, 623 Elizabeth street, following an illness of two years, aged 75. He was a native of the Clearspring district and the son of the late Robert S. and Su jsan (Speidel) Harper. For many years he was a mason-contractor and was a member of the Dunkard church at Broadfording. Besides his wife, Mary Jane, he is survived by these daughters: Mrs. E. F. Stockslager, Washing ton, D. C.; Mrs. Harry Smith, Edge mont; Mrs. Raymond Butts, Mrs. Preston Carpenter and Mrs. Aden Carpenter, all of this city: sons, Henry 5., Charles L., Daniel B. and Richard R., all of this city; sisters, Mrs. Daniel Toomer, York, Pa., and Mrs. Harry Shutts, Harrison, N. J.; brother, Harry H. Harper. Pitts burgh: 48 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Funeral services Saturday at 2 p. m. at the Gospel Tabernacle, the Rev. R. E. Hartle, officiating, In terment at Rose Hill cemetery, Julia F. Bert died at the home of a nephew in Greencastle, aged $6. She was a member of the Metho dist church. Surviving are a half-brother, A. A. Bert, Yonkers, S. Y., and a half sister, Mrs. J. J. Lewis, Coatesville. Funeral services Sunday at 2:30 p. m. from the A. EB. Minnich fun eral home, Rev. Raymond Makley officiating. Interment in Cedar Hill cemetery. Cornelius Randolph Toms died at his home at Smithsburg of a heart attack at 7730 p. m. Wednesday, aged 66. Surviving are: sisters, Mrs. Alice ,Robinson, Smithsburg, and Mrs. Ida Kendall, Highfield. _ Funeral services Saturday at 10 a. m. at the Hoover funeral home, Rev. G. G. Jones officiating. Inter ment in Smithsburg cemetery.
