Huedepohl j of Williamsburg was drown Wed- j raesd'ay, June 2, while swimming in , Blind Pass between. Treasure Island j and Pass-a-Gill Island on. the West Coast of Florida, according to word ,lt; received .from the War Department lt;Monday morning. jThe coast guard was called out r when it was noticed that he was iPVT. REN'O HUEDEPOHLmissing, but the body was not recovered until the following day when it was found on a sandbar about 100 yards from the point where he had been swimming. The war department is a letter from Drew Field where Reno had been stationed until recently, lauded him as an. excellent soldier who was well liked and would be missed by officers and men. alike,• Pvt. Huedepohl was twenty-five years old, he entered the service in September,- 142. He is survived by his parents, four sisters, Lucille, Irma, and Alice at home, and Mrs. Oren Schmidt of Homestead and' his grandfather, Ed. • Newkirk of Williamsburg.- Funeral services will be held in Immanuel church awaiting arrival of the body. A more complete obituary will be published next week.
