The fol lowing pupils, winners in their respective districts, competed: BexttaaJaques, Spaulding Rogers, An Sable Porks r Marion Stick ney, Elizabeth Stearns, Lake Placid; Bernice Cooper, Eva Wolfe, Wilmington; Malvina Bal-aburda, Regina Tejes, Port Henry; Eleanor Cutting, Hilda Richards, Henry Hanley, Lewis; Robert Sullivan, Viola Balch, Olmstedville; Rowena Ross Mary Owen, Agnes Tumnaias, Elizabeth Hall, Harrison Hall, Newcomb; Marguerite Jenlts, Louise Pitkin, Schroon Hake.The contest, under the supervision and direction of the district superintendents of the county, was very cicse. reflecting great credit on the contestants and their teachers.Spaulding Rogers of Au Sable Porks won first place, which carries with it a trip to the state fair at Syracuse this fall, as the representative of Essex county iu the state spelling tree. Malvina Halaburda of Fort Henry won second place. Regina Feges of Port Henry won third place.
