8th Grade Class GivenEntertainment TuesdayAt the St Joseph s School on Tuesday afternoon of this week the members of the graduating class from the8th grade were entertained in a fitting manner by the pupils of the 6thand 7th grades the program Includ lng a banquetDuring the daintily served banquet Ellen Miller Mary Harringtonand Waunita Bun yea gave toasts being introduced by Frances Joneswho very creditably took the part of toast mistress All paid tribute to the departing class for the good example they had given of loyalty to the school fidelity to duty and courtesy to teachers and pupils The members of the class weredeeply touched and promised to befaithful to the high ideals set before them and to live up to the goodopinion of their companionsVirginia Sullivan then told the reason for their selection of the sun flower—because it represented faith Frances McCann explained the mean log of gold and green—loyalty andfidility—their class colorsGertrude Tuckett solemnly made the class will the applause showb how well it was received AdelineOsborn gave a short sketch of thelives of St Patrick and St Joseph their patronsGertrude Church propheeized thatbin the year 1923 Eureka would boast paved streets lawns boule yards and sky scrapers with mem. bers of the class Its most honored citizens and with Helen Downey teaching a select number of young ladies Frances McCann a police of t fleer Virginia Sullivan a famous violinist Gertrude Tuckett a musicteacher Adeline Osborn a teacherHelen Downey closed the program by a touching and clever farewell address after which dancing was enjoyed by all
