BAND CONCERTSMonroe Military Band To Fulfill Old Agreement.Street concerts by the Monroe Military band will be continued during the summer under the arrangement made last year when $500 was raised among business men and citizens. The Business Men’s association, at a meeting held Thursday, met representatives of the band and the decision was reached that the old agreement should be fulfilled. The band was to give twelve concerts. Four of the concerts were given and the band was paid one-third of the money.The first concert will be given on Wednesday evening, June 19, and after that there will be one concert each week. Owing to the commencement exercises next week it wras decided to put off the first concert until a week later.A communication had been received stating that the excursion of the Milwaukee Merchants’ and Manufacturers’ association would stop here Thursday afternoon, June 2lt;, and that the members would like to meet the members of the association. The party will number seventy-five or eight, each representing a firm that is a member of the association. I'nder the circumstances no arrangements were made for the entertainment of the visitors and Secretary Thorp was instructed to write and notify the association that the business men here would be pleased to meet and ent rtain the party during the stay in the city.
