Mme. Hanka Schjeiderup, the great Norwegian pianist and singer, whose talents provoked so much controversy on her introduction to London by'Mr. Norman-Concorde, will shortly arrive in England. She is resting and will not appear here this season. She will give a seriesof recitals in the autumn.Mr. Norman-Concorde has just to hand two further letters from distinguished musicians to add to those from Grieg, Edouard Schure, and Levi concerning the abilities of Mme. Hanka Schjeiderup. Massenet writes:-—' She is a truly remarkable pianist, and most interesting singerand ends by expressing his ^ admiration tres vive.^ D’Imlay writes: ‘'She is adramatic soprano of great talent, an extremely fine pianist and tout-a-fait hors ligne comnie musicianne.”Herr Halfdan Jebe, who led the orchestra at the Delius concert, is a Kapellmeister at Christiania. He has given up his appointment in order to devote more time* to composition, and came to England out of enthusiasm for theDelius compositions to give his assistance in the performance of the music.
