‘On May 24, 1982 at the Birtle Health Centre, after a brief illness, Matilda Jane Widdi combe of Foxwarren, Manit oba in her 96th year. ‘The Funeral service was held May 28th from the Fox warren United Church with Pastor Dubyna of the Seventh Day Adventist Church offcia ting, assisted by Rev. Jean ‘Ward of the Foxwarren United Church. Rev. Peter. Widdl- Foxwarren Cemetery. ‘June Honey was born on the Southeast quarter of 2-18-28 in Ellice Municipality June 3, 1896, the third child and eldest daughter of William Honey and Blanche McCammon. On June 3, 1907, she married William John Widdicombe and together they raised eleven children on their farm in the Bayfield district. In 1949 they retired to the village of Foxwarren. Mrs. Widdicombe was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist. She is survived by seven sons - Wes, Ted, Jim, Jack and Dan of Foxwarren; George of Spirit River, Alb erta and Sam of Langley, B.C. also three daughters - Violet (Mrs. Harry Ellis) of Yorkton, Sask., June (Mrs. Erle, Davis) Victoria, B.C. and Alice (Mrs. John Millar) Wickenburg, Arizona; and one .Mrs. Widdicombe was pre deceased by her husband, John, in 1964, one son Roland in 1966, 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Pallbearers were her seven sons. Honorary pallbearers were : Ben Low, Alex Reid, Norman Turnbull, Donald Ath erton, Norman Liske, Norman Stewart and Harvey Eckert. Braendle-Bruce Funeral Home, Russell, was in charge of arrangements, “What comfort there can be in the warmth of memory”.
