Milburn “Cabbagehead” Meador, about 66, who lives near the city dump on Piney River, waived to the grand jury following a hear ing before Magistrate J. H. Mc Ghee, of Beaver, on a charge of unlawful wounding. No bond was set. Meador was arrested Tuesday afternoon by State Police after he allegedly shot a 12-year-old Negro youth, Paul Bradley, of Ra leigh. MEADOR SAID the Bradley youth and several other boys were caught in his strawberry patch and that he ‘fired into the ground “to frighten them.” Bradley was treated by Dr. M. C. Banks, of Raleigh, for shotgun wounds and sent home.
