SCHOOL BOARD PETITIONS FOR $55,000 ADDITION TO HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING— J. KE. OVERTON RE-EL ECTED TRUSTEE The Petition of the Martinsville School Board for the erection of an addition to the present High School Building for a Junior High School Was passed upon A Sunday night at a meeting of the City Council. The new addition will be on the form of an “L’ shape and will be built adjoining the present High School building on the south side. The proposed improvement will contain basement and two stories and Conform to present building in style and architecture. It will cost $55,000. The city council re-elected J. E. Overton as a member of the school board for another term of three years. There was no opposition for the place. Judge J. W. Williams was elected City Attorney to succeed Attorney J. E. Sedwick who has resigned in pre paration to devote his entire time to the work of the Red Men Lodge, of which he will be the national head some time this coming autumn. The Council approved building per mits as follows: Albert Merritt, to y remodel, resi dence corner of Highland and Mar ion streets; H. MM. Dillon, to build garage, 4898. Main street: Chas. Pen nington, to remodel porch at 60 St. Marion street; Matilda Graham, to remodel residence at 59 North Wayne street; Homer Russell, to tear down old building and build new one for firage at 50 East Blaine street; Roy E. Tilford, to build extension to rear porch, South Jefferson street. Wm. Steineweg, to build garage south of the Bucket factory. C. F. Scott, to remodel porch and extend bathroom, at residence on North Jefferson street; E. B. Stoker, to rebuild veranda at 89 W. Walnut street; Bert Musgrave, to build garage at residence on E. Morgan street.
