Continued from Page 2representatives of each of the seven study groups that make up SEA Class 131 would recite some historical information to their classmates.The run lasted 90 minutes and involved two loops around the base.The six sites of interest included the decommissioned aircraft carriers For-restal and Saratoga, the USS Buttercup wet trainer, the Naval Construction Battalion Seabee statue near NUWC-leased Building 11, the stone marker at the former Yeoman School at Lawrence Field, the Officers’ Club parking lot at Dewey Field, the Naval War College on Coasters’ Harbor Island, and the finish at Tomich Hall.Throughout the run the 5 minute speeches about the various sites were recited and contained some interesting information. For example, one group spoke about a woman whose tenure at the YN School lasted from World War I through the Korean War.“This was the first time the race was held, but it was such a success it will now be a part of each class’s Physical Fitness Program,” Dyer said.The next run will be between July 9 and 20, and Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy (MCPON) Joe Campa is scheduled to attend.
