Killed as Coal Cor OverturnsWebster City’s best known pioneer citizen, Walter C. Willson, died August 17, 1300. f’^m injuries suffered when a coal car overturned- on bun. He was 76 years old.As a member of the stale legislature, Willson had been instrumental in the formation of Hamilton county with Webster City as its county scat. He was a leader of the uptown forces in city politics, builder of the Willson hold and numerous other buildings, and organized the Crooked Creek Railroad and Coal company.Pie was supervising the unloading of a car of coal in the nom-pany’s rail yards when he was fatally injured.Over 3,000 people attended the funeral services.
