Proposal For 25-Year Grant Is Referred to Light Committee. A proposed ordinance was sub mitted to the City Council Monday evening at the regular monthly session, which would grant a 25- year franchise to the Arkansas Power Light Co. The matter was referred to the fire, light and building committee. Merritt McGaughey presented a petition signed by a number of Harrison residents asking the coun cil to pass an ordinance regulating the use of electrical motors and appliances which cause interference with local radio reception, and it was referred to the ordinance com mittee. A pesition was submitted by Hugh Taylor requesting the coun cil to open up north Robinson street, south of the Rose Hill cem etery, which was referred to the street committee. Plans for a Fourth of July cele bration in Harrison were discussed and the matter was referred to the police committee, headed by Dave Woodard. W. G. Dailey was employed to repair the roof of the fire station building on south Pine street.
