The following are the results of the recent examination in Commer cial subjects at St. Joseph's Con vent School, at Pinnaroo. Junior Shorthand, Jean Adams, Phyllis Sar gent; Junior Typing, Jean Adams, Phyllis Sargent; Elemetary Book keeping, Jean Adams, Phyllis Sar gent; Elementary Typing, Mavis Sigs ton; Intermediate Book-keeping, Mavis Sigston, “THE UNKNOWN PURPLE.” ~The Unknown Purple which will be shown at the Imperial Pictures Theatre, on Saturday (to-morrow) , night, is an adaption of the sensa tionally successful stage play of the same name by Roland West. The theme is one of mystery, centering about a purple ray of light in which a human being can make himself in visible to the eye. The possessor of this remarkable secret is an inventor, played by Henry B. Walthall, whose wife has betrayed his trust in her and whose best friend has stolen all he possessed and sent him to prison on a false charge. Unrecognized by those who betrayed him, the inven tor returns after his prison term, and with the aid of the weird power of making himself invisible, which he possesses, proceeds to take a justified vengeance upon them. In the cast of the production, which was directed by the author, are Henry B. Walthall Alice Lake, Stuart Holmes, Helen Ferguson, Ethel Grey Terry, Johnny Arthur, Brinsley Shaw, James Mor rison, little Frankie Lee, Richard Wayne and Mike Donlin. The sec end attraction is entitled “Afraid to Love.” The fascinating Miss Vidor im motion picture labelled with this rather provoking title, “Afraid to Love,” is positive in her declaration that this does not represent her own views. “To be afraid to love,” says Miss Vidor, “is to shrink from the most powerful and most sacred emo tion in the world. Love is life, and until we have loved, unreservedly and with our whole being, we have failed most signally to fulfil our destiny. Rather, I would be afraid not to love.” See this fine programme.
