“Buddy” Play Success In Arlington HeightsThe military play entitled, “Mrs. Tubbs Does Her Bit,” presented jointly by the Memorial club of Arlington Heights and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Players of Prospect Post No. 1337 on Memorial Day and again on Thursday, May 31, for the benefit of the Buddy Fund, was pronounced by those in attendance, the best three-act comedy-drama production ever pre-I sented in Arlington Heights.I The cast was a carefully picked i one, and each character stood out prominently in its lines and brought us back vividly to the early days of the war.Mrs. Flesch won the hearts of : her audience in her intepretation ; of the patriotic mother. Arthur Flesch, her husband, played the• leading male character of James j Scotland Tubbs, one of Uncle Sam’sboys. Amanda Glade and John ! Bencic as Queenie Sheba and Scuf-j fles Tubbs respectively, shared the* laugh honors with Miss Cora Pingel as Miss Clingje Vine, a romantic old maid. These three alone w’ere worth the price of admission. Miss| Frma Worley as Aunt Serepty Me-- Dougal, a wealthy seventy-year old- lady was superb.
