Leading Citizen of Heth Town ship Is Called to His Reward. Brice W. Reagan died at his home near Mauckport Friday night, June 2. Funeral services were conducted Sunday at the Mt. Zion A. B. church, of which the deceased was a member, by the Rev. M. C. Patterson, of Pfrim mer’s Chapel. The Odd Fellows and Modern Woodmen of America assist ed in the obsequies. The deceased was born near New Middletown September 3, 1854, and spent practically all of his life in this county. He was the eighth child in a family of thirteen, of whom there are only three survivors, a brother, O. L. Reagan, of Lanesville, and two sis ters, Mrs. Lyman Winders, of Eliza beth, and Mrs. Dan Lopp, of Evans ville. He was married to Elizabeth Stine on January 10, 1878. To them were born nine children, three of whom died in infancy. Five sons and one daugh ter are left to comfort their mother: Elmer L. Reagan, of Meade county, Ky.; Charles A. Reagan, of Hanover College, Hanover, Ind.; George W. Reagan, of Custer, Mich.; Hiram C. Reagan, of Mauckport; Edgar W. Reagan, of Hanover, Ind.; and Mrs. Harold Hall, of Evansville. There are, in addition, sixteen grandchil dren, one great-grandchild and a large number of other relatives and friends to mourn the departed. The deceased was a strong, indus trious, upright man and one who was very useful to the community in which he lived. He worked at the black smith trade for some thirty-five years and served many years as Justice of the Peace in Heth township. He was interested in farm animals and made an extensive study of veterinary medi cine and surgery, which he practiced widely and successfully in his later life. During the last three or four years his health was broken. He struggled courageously for a time to regain his strength and to resume his active life, but in vain. Of late his decline was rapid and he met the end without fear. He earned an honest living and he lived an honest life.
