Afflerbach, $2,lt; former sheriff of York county, for the ma past two years a ranchman at Grass wh Range, Mont. a iThe story of Afflerbach's disappear- old ance presents a mystery. It begins dai with the theft of a new automobile in die York more than a month ago, from the Buiek garage. Simultaneous with the disappearance of the machineHarry Randolph was found suddenly ^ , to have left York. ^ *Jgrcancwa:colcrononRandolph was owner of a home-stead claim near Roy, Mont., and not far from Afflerbach’s ranch. Putting these facts together, York authori- gee ties wired Afflerbach, asking him to go to Randolph’s claim and look out r,for the missing machine. A day or two later Afflerbach wired that hehad found Randolph and a machinehe supposed to be the stolen one. He was instructed to hold Randolph Cpending the issuance of extradition bra papers. duiThe sheriff of York county imme-diately secured requisition from Gov- Saj ernor Morehead and went to Roy. soc Arrived there he found that Affler- sta bach, Randolph and the machine had prc all dropped completely out of sight. ^oi No one could give him any informa- me tion that would throw the slightest tlie light on what had become of the fl3n missing men or auto.Tlt;tim
