The Paris Congress will deal with everything pertaining to stenography, its history, developments, use, and application to modern purposes. In addition there will be a Parliamentary committee of the congress, of which the members will bo the chief official shorthand writers in tho Senate and Chamber, and in this department will be discussed various matters connected with, legislative reporting all over the world.In the well-known Jurassic thin-bedded lithographic limestones of Solenhofen, in Bavaria, there are, in a wonderful state of preservation, the fossil remains of the first true bird which inhabited the earth. Geologists have called it archaeopteryx. This interesting creature, which was about tho size of a rook, differed much from modern birds. It possessed certain structures of a reptilian nature, which showed its relationship to that cold-blooded class of animals.
