Tibbits, President pro tem., in the Chair, and all the members present.A letter from William Reynolds Brown tendering his resignation of the office of President of the village, was received and his resignation accepted.The vacancy in the office of Trustee of the Third Ward—caused by the refusal to qualify of Henry P. Stewart, who was elected to that office on the Sth day of May last—was filled by the appointment of Isaac - V. Fowler, to serve until the third Tuesday in May, 1884.A resolution wa3 passed appointing A. Jackson Hyatt, Attorney /ind Counsel of the village, in place of Charles W. Cochran— Messrs. Verplanck, Riorclan, and Wright voting in the affirmative, and Messrs Sutton and Tibbits in the negative.George Washington See, the present able, fearless, and effective incumbent of the office, was unanimously reappointed Chief of Police of the village of White Plains, with the following corps of Police Constables as assistants, who were also appointed without a dissenting vote : Richard Harmon, Jr., John C. Verplanck, Frederick Augustus Coe Bogart, Jay Ferguson Crawford, Edward W. Bogart, George Washington See, and Wesley Van Tassel.On a vote to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of William Reynolds BrowD, Henry T. Dykman, Esq, was uuanimously elected President of the village of White Plains, to fill the unexpired term—and a very good appointment it is.The Board then adjourned till Saturday eveniDg next.
