Alan Thomas twirled a no-hit gem, striking out eight, and the K of C Rangers scored eight times in the third and six in the fourth to hand the Fout Bros. Twins a 14-0 setback in North Junior League action Thursday. Thomas, who recorded his second straight win as the first-place Rangers captured their sixth in a row, slapped three singles and a double while Seaid Shaheen and John Richter had two hits apiece, and Vince Garza, Allen Ebert, Brett Haines and Kurt Stahler one each. Gilbert Sanchez suffered the loss. Hard-throwing Rick Burke knocked in five runs with two doubles and a three run homer and tossed a four-hitter with 13 strikeouts as the Rotary Braves won their ninth straight, 11-3, over the Kodak Pirates in National Little League play. Mark Davies tapped four consecutive doubles while Joe Goodman plated a pair of runs with a triple. Jeff Maxie, Jeff Dean, Wayne Maxie, Joe Arico and Tim Federici each singled for the Braves. Mike Akin and Dave Smith doubled and Ken Flick and Dave Wilkens singled for the Pirates. Marty Osborn, who had two hits, singled in Craig Burnside and Jeff Mouser, who also had a pair of safeties, to cap a four-run second inning and the Tri-County Cards nipped the Exchange Giants 7-5 in NL action. Brad Cline and reliever Jack Mason combined to hurl the win while Burnside, Mark Hare, Jeff Parke, Cline, Jim Ruiz and Mark Carson each had one hit for the Cards. Steve Corbin tripled and Ron Wallen singled for the only Giant hits. Greg Bennett and Wayne Eaton both scored on a passed ball in the top of the sixth inning to spark the Kiwanis Yankees to a narrow 11-10 win over the F.O.P. Indians in American Little League play. _Eaton backed winning hurler Tony Lahey with two home runs and four RBIs while Randy Smaltz had two doubles, Andy Sterling two singles and Jim Barger and Steve James one single apiece, Scott Danson, Brad Fisher and John Perkins had two hits apiece for the Indians while Wendell Rizor, Brad Girdler and Almon Thompson one each. Terry Schlencher knocked in six runs with a homer and double and scattered two hits to lead the B.P.O.E. White Sox to an easy 13-0 victory over the San-A-Pure Tigers in AL action. Max Davisson had two hits and Jim Corbin, Eric Peters, Rick Acord and Lombardi Set In Prix LONDON (AP) — Italian Tesla Lombardi became the first woman to be accepted for the British Grand Prix motor race July 20. Miss Lombardi, who was accepted Thursday, will be the first woman to take part in a Formula One world cham pionship event since her compatriot, Maria Teresa Filipis, drove in the 1956 Italian Grand Prix at Monza. Lella, 31, from Turin, was named to drive a car owned by Brabham. Steve Long one each for the White Sox. Steve Hulbert and Brad Dorman had the lone Tiger hits in the game that was called after five innings, because of the 12-run rule. Paul ‘Slugger’ Lashells had two doubles and two singles and Grady Hall scattered two hits to spark the Local Marathon Dealers Browns to a 15-2 victory over the Snyder-Koehler Realty Jets in South Junior League play. Brad Benschneider had three hits and Tommie Hamlin and Tom Treece two apiece for the Browns. Robbie Woolley and Jim Ross had the Jets’ safeties. The Quick Print Scarlets scored 17 runs in the top of the fifth and rolled to a 24-6 victory over the Coldren Funeral Home Kellys in South Junior League action. Rich Cook had a double and two singles and Matt Davies three singles for the Scarlets while Brian Logsdon, Scott Creeger and Shanon Clark added two hits each and Bart Grayson a home run.
