Wright has purchased from George Hower the large home at 308 B Street, and the family has moved into the property. Miss Alta Sawyer has resigned her position as bookkeeper in the Ameri can bank ‘and returned to her home near Broadwater. Her position has been taken by Charles Marsh, a pop ular young Sidney man. Marius Christensen, M. W. Dim ery, Ray Tierney, A. J. Jorgenson, Joseph Oberfelder and F. N. Slaw son attended the annual convention of group seven of the Nebraska Bankers association in Bridgeport. Christensen was secretary of the group last year. 24 YEARS AGO— The Sidney Base Ball club was organized this week and the line-up at present is as follows: Chas. Mann, 1st base; L.Bartholomew, 2nd base; Dr. Bliss, 3rd .base; Joe Simodynés, shortstop; Joe Fine, catcher;Art Closman, pitcher; Sam Fine, right field; Blaine Grabill, left field; G. He now has one of the finest residences in town. William Simms and his sister, Mrs. Dugan, were down from the North Divide this week. Mr. Simms,has 800 acres in crop this year and says the prospect is the best he ever saw. He is planning a modern new house on his farm. Miss Catherine Greenlee returned home from Riverton to enjoy for a while the shade of the family tree and the new automobile. She taught in the Riverton high school for the ‘past two years, 34 YEARS AGO— ‘Those who attended the closing exercises at Miss Delila Howard’s school at Herdon on last Saturday evening report an excellent program and a very fine time. A neat and attractive porch has been built in front of the Metropo litan hotel by Mine Host Dedrick. A couple of trick bicyclists gave an exhibition on Rose street after the ball game Thursday afternoon and gathered in the loose change of the crowd. The exhibition was fine and funny and closed by the chief man riding down the steps of the Mc Lernon building. Quite a number of Sidney people attended the closing exercises of the Colton school last Saturday evening and were well pleased with the en tertainment. Miss Grace Hart is teacher of the school. Lon Sherwin, one of the old-time cowboys, of western Nebraska and northern Colorado was in Sidney ar ranging for the appearance of the Baker Sherwin Brothers Cowboy and Wild West shows here on June 11th. Associated with Messrs Baker Sherwin, who have spent their lives upon the range, are Rudy Brow nell, champion lariat thrower;..Lee Kuntz, winner of the medal of the 1903 Frontier Day tournament of Cheyenne; Chas. McWilliam, one of the swiftest ropers in the west; Bud Huts, who has but a few equals in horsemanship; Bert McIntyre, who does many marvelous things on horseback; Mrs. Bert McIntyre and Bertha ,Coppernich, lady broncho busters, and,many other, interesting people.
