Hermansville, June 6 (Special) Miss Alfreda and Miss Frances Hanson of Menominee were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Dani on Sunday. Mrs. Dave Gendron of Iron Mountain is spending a few days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Sturm. Mr. and Mrs. FE. Boisclair of Escanaba spent the week end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Bartl. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Carney and daughter Patsy of Iron Mountain were guests at the time of Mrs. Charles Carney on Sunday. Carlton Schwartz of Menomi nee spent Sunday at the home of his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Good reau and daughter Patsy spent the week-end in Escanaba at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albin Nel son. Mrs. Gilbert Mattson spent the week-end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Becker in Munising. I. J. Allen left Monday for Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., where he will spend a few days transacting business. Mrs. Eugene Sturm and daugh ters Virginia and Florida accom panied by Miss Beatrice Panzram and Miss Gertrude Mattson were callers at the Art Mitchell and Dave Gendron homes in Iron Mountain on Saturday. Miss Birdie Bird of Houston, Texas, is spending a few weeks at the home of Dr. and Mrs. J. K. Parish. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Floriano of Iron Mountain were callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Povelo on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh MacEach ern and son Robbie were callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas in Stephenson on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. John Dennis of Iron Mountain and family, were callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Fish on Sunday. Miss Lucille and Mr. Joseph Perussi of Norway were callers at the Povolo home in this city on Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Gunder man accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Walter Carlson of Escanaba were callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bonetti of this city on Sunday. Ira Rowell left Sunday for Chi cago where he will transact busi ness. Miss Rose Arnoldi and Miss Berntine Lattam spent the week end at Norway at the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. Arnoldi. Mr. and Mrs. Griffith Thresher of Houghton are spending a few days at te home of Mr. and Mrs Nelson Thresher in this city. Mrs. Arthur Berg accompanied by Mr.’ and Mrs. Edward Bere visited with Mr. Berg at the St. Francis hospital in Escanaba on Sunday. Roscoe Taylor left Monday morning to accompany Miss Eme line Jones and Miss Helen Ste wert on a trip to Pasadena, Calif. Mr. Taylor will spend part of the summer months in California vis iting with friends and relatives. Miss Grace and Miss Joyce Greenwood, of Tronwood, Mich., spent the week-end in Hermans ville visiting with friends. Mr. and Mrs. John Olson and family were callers in Norway on Saturday. Harry Friday and daughters of Menominee were callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Loht on Sunday. Miss Shirley Harrington left Saturday afternoon for Calumet, Mich., where she will spend part of her summer vacation at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Patsloff. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Johnson and family spent the week-end at Escanaba visiting with friends and relatives. Mrs. KE. E. Allen and daughter Miss Naomi accompanied by Mr. John Farley of Escanaba visited in Marquette on Sunday with Miss Jane Allen, Vermeer’s painting, “Lady Writing,” once sold for an equiva lent of $6; one of his other works recently sold for $200,000.
