A Woman Journalist TalksNo local item is too small to he run in the small daily newspaper and subscriptions and advertising are vital to the success of the paper, Miss Annie Poage, of the Ashland Independent told the Kentucky Press Association in an address before the annnual midsummer meeting here today.She gave the “Observations of a Woman Journalist.”Miss Poa^e has worked in.bothbusiness and editorial departments of newspapers and for, a time was an advertising writerfor a big Pittsburg department store.The modern woman is “just as modest and far more capable and more to be envied” than the woman of the “laverfder and old lace type.” Miss Poage told the editors, in one or her “observations”Since the granting of the ballot to women the race between the men and women for business su-' premacy is to the “swift.” she added.“The wiser heads have learned that they must get local news orYour home town and what your men and women are doing worth while and vour own state should heget out of the field.more interesting than to read about what the people are doing over in South Africa.”The small citv dailv should teattire local and not telegraph tising. news. .
