Franklin 1. Whitman, late of Spokane, committed suicide in the King county Lank, at Seattle, by shooting himself alter he had been shot in the thigh by William A. Nordquist, assistant cashier, to whom he had pre sented a written demand for $3000. at the same time laying an empty bottle labeled “nitroglycerin” on the banker's cage sill.
