Chief of Police Delaney has re ceived a letter from John Hall, a wealthy shingle mill man of Flor ence, Wash., which clears up the ar rest of a man how serving a 20-day sentence in the city jail. Patrolman Newman arrested the man on Upper Flint because he had a lot of silverware on him and could not explain where he got it. The stolen allverware corresponds to that stolen from the home of John Hala, which was entered on the night of April 23. The house was looted and hundreds of dollars worth of valu ables taken. The prisoner will be sent back to Everett to face a serious charge, if the aliverware is positively identi fied by Trials. “I will search the whole world over until my daughter is found,” was the pathetic statement made to City Detectives Byrnes and Kenne dy. John McDougall came all the way from Fresno, Cal, to run down the rumor that his daughter was in this city. Do. A. Lane , married man and a neighbor of McDougall's, it is al leged, won the girl's heart, and de serting his own wife, disappeared some time last fall. The San Francisco authorities wired the Seattle police to watch for the runaway couple and they were lo cated by the detectives, but before they were arrested another telegram came announcing that the case was dropped . They have never been heard from time. The girl's parents are near ly distracted over her silence. The detectives have been asked to help
