Passed Away at His Home LastFriday Morning.Mr. James Henning Detvens, County Treasurer of this county** JK7- V. , a I i '• - - ' i .v * A y‘- !since 1890, died at his home last Friday morning about 1( o’clock of tuberculosis, in the 561h vear of hie age.Mr. Detyens had been iti declining health for two or three years, but bv his indominable will and■rmrenergy, he was not absent from his office but verv little during his** lt;. . - *’■ ? ” *Srillness. He was a bril-liant man, and naturally a leader m political affairs in the county. Mr. Detyens was married twice.fIv his first «ife he leaves lourchildren, Mrs. E. M-. Boar. About six vears90ago he married Miss Margaret Selby of Columbia, and by her he leaves Jalien, a little son'of four vears.i{*fnjThe funeral services were con-ductpl by the Rev. Dr. G. H. Tohnston at the Episcopal church of which the deceased was a member, last Saturday morning at 11o’clock, and the body interred in Elmwood cemetery.The funeral was largely attended by sympathizing friends, who brought beautiful floral offerings to be placed on the casket.The deepest sympathy is tendered to his grief-stricken widow and children in thtir dark hour of trees.The following gentleman acted as pall beaivrs:—Hon.
