The rain, which had caused a postponementof the exercises from the preceding day, had subsided, and the track, though not m prime condition, was still in very gooa order. The ofiieers of the society have spared no pains in preparing the grounds so as to set off to the best ad vantage their superior natural attractions.A large number of the members oi the association and others interested in agricultural pursuits and the cultivation of stock were present. Among the membersof the society who w'ere upon the grounds were Gen. N. I. Halsted, the president; Messrs. George Ii. Dnn andWm. M. Force, the secretaries; ex-A!der-raan Crane, the treasur ; and Mr. William A. Morrell, the superintendent. Chief Glasby has charge ot the police arrangements, and succeeded as usual inkeeping the track, clear and maintaining good order everywhere.A flock of 40 Angora Cashmere goats,entered by Mr. Samuel K. Du miner, oi Middlesex, attracts much admiration. There have as yet been no at rivals of cattle, sheep, swine or poultry, but it is expected that to-day there will be quite a nutnoer of entiies in these depRrtmenis.Among the many fine turn-outs upon the grounds a team of black horses owned by Mr. Morrill, and a pair of sorrels owned by Mr. Sandford, ol Newark, attracted universal admiration.The special premiums for speed were well contested :Class No. 1.—Purse $150 for horse that have not beaten 3 minutes ; first, $75;second, $50; third, $25, ior which therewere 10 entries, was won by L. Allen’s s. g. Frank Morgan.Class No. 2.—Purse $325 for horses that have never beaten 2.30, first, $175; second, $100 ; third, $50 for whica five entries had been made, was won by J. Campbell's b. g. Othello.Class No. 3.-—Purse $200 for liors^s that have never beaten 2.45; first, $100; second, $60; third, $40, was not concluded yesterday; J. Campbell’; b. s. Spartan took the first heat, and F. A. Page’s br. g. Charlie Davis, the econ d. The race was then postponed untd 1.60 o’clock this afternoon.
