Local Group Organize Chapter Of Council Of Jewish Women- Council of Jewish Women, major national women’s organization, formed a local chapter with an initial organizational meeting May 21 at the home of Mrs. Walter A. May, Jr., at which some thirty women were present. An application for charter was made. Many of the women had been members in their previous place of residence. Present was Miss Lucille Papermaster, national field organizer for CJW, who explained that the Council confines most of its work to the U.S., to the major unmet needs in the community in particular, and on a non-sectarian basis. Some thought is being given to the development of a local child guidance program.Women interested in becoming charter members are invited to contact either Mrs. Irwin L. Hirsch, temporary chairman, at 6-2166, Mrs. Aaron Levy, temporary secretary, 5-4563, or Mrs. Hyman Copins, membership chairman, 5-7323, before June 10.During the summer considerable organizational committee work is contemplated. Bloom; nominating committee: Mrs. Harry Bacal, chairman, Mmes. Henry Kaufmann, Aaron Levy, Sol Samors, Lester Wellman; by-laws: Mmes Charles F.Solomon, Sol Samors; publicity: Mrs. A. L.
