MRS. FRANCES SVOBODAFrances Svoboda, nee Trecek, _was born in Dacice, Moravia, March 13, 1867 and died at Cuba, Kansas, on -June 2, 1929, at the age of 62 years, 2 months and 19 days. She had been seriously ill for only a few days, death occurring- from pneumonia.*.v-jShe immigrated with her .parents, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Trecek, to the United States in 1879 and settled on a # farm southeast of Cuba. In the year 1887 ^ie was united in marriage to Paul Svoboda, and to this union were born ten children,, three sons and one daughter having preceded the mother in. death. Her husband died six years ago.She was a woman loved by all who knew her. She was a member of the lodge Kansasky Rolnik Z. C. B. -J., and sbdr Sobislava No.: 62 J. C. D. -Those left to mourn her departure are her three sons, William, Edward and Joseph, all of Cuba; three daughters, Anna Klaumann, Frances Havel and’ Tillie Svotboda of Cuba, her father, Anton Trecek; two sisters, Tillie Cherny of Cuba and Amelia Tuma of Wayne; three ‘brothers, Charles, Milek and Anton Trecek, all of Cuba; twelve grandchildren and a host of friends.Funeral services were conducted at the home in Cuba Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Joseph Leksa of- Blue Rapids officiating. Vocal selections were rendered by a choir composed of Mrs. Joe Kesl, Mrs. Ed. Shulda, Mrs. George Jehlik, Mr.. Steven Benyshek and Mr. Jerry Kopsa. Mr. Chas. Chruma spoke a few words in behalf of the two fraternities of which she was a member.Interment was made in the National cemetery.
