MRS. A. W. FARR PASSES AWAYThe Des Moines community was shocked on Thursday of last week to learn of the death of an old pioneer, Mrs. A. W. Farr. Her death occurred at Clayton, where she ha 1 been taking medical treatment for several ailments, and was not unexpected as she had been in ill health for several weeks.The funeral services were conducted from the Methodist church in Des Moines at ly a. m., on Saturday, May ‘3J st, by Rev. J. T. Malcom and were attended by a host of friends. On account of her death not being generally known many failed to attend that otherwise would have been present. Her remains were laid to rest in the Des Moines cemetery.Alice L. Keene was boi n on April 12, 1853, at I3oonville, Missouri. Died on May 2'Jth, 1924, aged 71 years, 1 month and 17 days. Her father’s family moved to McClaim county, Illinois, and it was thei*-she was married to A. W. Farr on October 28, 1873.
