AN OLD PIONEER HAS GONEOne of the real pioneers of South Dakota is gone in the death of Mrs. Paul Narcelle of Cherry Creek. She died at the age of 99 years so far as anything definite could be learned of her age. She was the Indian wife of Paul Narcelle, one of the young French fur traders who was sent out by the American Fur company of St. Louis when they established their post a* the mouth of Bad river nearly a hundred years ago, where Fort Pierre now stands. [After the fur trade died down Narcelle who had taken an Indian wife settled on the Cheyenne river and built up a fortune as a stock man. A number of years ago he died and left his children wealthy, but thev soon scattered it and through dissipation the sons met their death, existence of the family name dying with the mother. The last of the family a grandson, was killed near Dupree several years ago.
