Sunday School Convention a Success in Ev ery Way Miss Lewis Delivers Several Very Inter esting Addresses Officers Elected The twenty-sixth annual meeting of the NolJde County Sunday School association Which was held at the Evangelianl church in this city Mon day evenings and Tuesday was a suc cess In every particular, Burly fifty different Sunday schools of the coun ty were represented by delegates and Sunday school workers from near and far gathered here to listen to the interesting addresses by Miss Hazel Lewis, of the Indiana State Elementary Department, and the car speakers who had messages to deliver. The first session of the convention was called to order at 7:30 Monday evening. Few of the out-of-town delegates were present, but the house of worship was filled with local peo ple who are interested in the Work. A song service led by Rev. I. M. Mc Vey, of the Methodist Protestant church, was the first thing on the program. Frank Aungst, county president, made a few remarks, after which Rev. A. Judson Arrick intro duced Miss Lewis. The noted Sun day school worker spoke on “Th Training of the Teacher.”’ She gave the assembled teachers some very valuable advice concerning their work. ‘She told show experience de veloped the teacher better than any thing else, and she informed the lis teners on various points in the hand ling of the younger children, or talk was well received by all. Misses Lucile Wible and Joyce Eckhart sane a duet before the meeting clos ed. The forenoon session Tuesday was called to order at 6:5u o'clock, Rev. WoT. Preshtey delivered a very in teresting talk on the “EMerency of the Sunday School.” Miss Muabel Loomis sane on pleasing solo ,and Miss Lewis again delivered an ad dress on Sunday school work. Miss s were to the point and they will be of great value to the many teachers when dueal: Lewis' reaiir problems concerning teaching arise. The delegates from the county and other towns were nearly all present at the formicon session. Shortly after 7 o'clock in the after noon The last session of the conven tion was opened, Rev. Lamport of Avilla, Rev. A. dudson Arrick and Rev. A.B. Trouze of this city made short adverses on subjects of inter est to the Sundiasy school workers as sembled, Miss Lewis introduced an other phase of the interesting sub ject of Sunday school worker on short talk, and Rev. FLFL McClure led an open discussion on the differ ent subjects touched upon in the three sessions. Miss Laura Good win sang a solo which was greatly appreciated by all and the session came to a close with the transaction of a few business matters and the election of officers for the coming year.
