The Pine and Palm.—This is thetitle of a paper just started at Boston, edited by James Bcdpath and kin-dred spirits. Among its contributors are the names of John Brown, Jr., H. Ford Douglas, Ac. Its character may be sufficiently understood by the first article of its “programme.” Here it is.“The immediate eradication of slavery from the soil of the United States by the authority of the Federal Government; or, failing in that by John Brown expeditions and simultaneous and extended Negro Insurrections.*1Tho Pine and Palm9 in short, is to be a radical abolition jonrnal, transcending in some respects all its predecessors. It will eschew the non resistant principles of most abolitionists, and advocate the use of “the physical forceswof tbo age.” The number before us contains a portrait of Toussaint I/Ou-verture, “the first of the Blacks,*’ and a supplement containing Wendell Phillips' lecture of last year on that extraordinary man, a synopsis of which appears on our first page, and will be found well worth reading. It is also to be largely devoted to the Hsytian col*onization movement. Bold, radical} spirits will be apt to like the paper.— Terms 51 for six months, in advance. Address Box 3235, Boston, Mass.rr m
