Hundreds attend car show at Grand ManorGLEN - The first annual Mount Washington Valley Old Car Show at the Grand Manor Antique and Classic Car Museum was a rousing success, according to Grand Manor Curator Frank Jost.Sponsored by the Mount Washington Valley Old Car Club, the June 2 show attracted 125 vintage vehicles and a crowd of over 800 people.Participants brought antique autos from through New Hampshire, and also from Massachusetts, Vermoqt andSmith of Kearsarge took third place with his 1949 Cadillac Sedan.A red 1955 Ford Thundcrbird belonging to Charles McLaughlin of Scabrook won first place in the 1955-59 class. Bob Holmes of Intervale took second place with Elvis, his 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible.Bruce Bunker of Franconia took a first place award with his 1967 Mustang coupe in the 1960-72 class. Frycburg resident Sandra Leavitt won third placeMaine. Judging was dbrw—in—irTIhe\same class for her 1967 eight classes, and overall Best Camaro^onvcrtible.of Show trophy went to Charlie Harper of Meredith for his 1930 Cadillac V-16 Phaeton.In the Prewar class (1941 and older), Harper’s exquisite V-16 Cadillac took first place, with second place going to a 1933 Ford Woody belonging to John Moir of Chocoma.Steve Dunnels of South Hiram, Maine, took First place in the 1946-54 class with his 1954 Mercury Sun Valley. John Moir took second place with a 1948 MG-TC, and DwightFirst place in the Muscle car class went to Phil Bell of Bethlehem with his 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500. StanAnthony of Conway took second place with a 1970 Dodge Challenger Trans Am.In the Commercial class, First place went to Bruce Bunker’s 1955 Ford FI 00 pickup truck, and Howard Hatch of Albany took a third place ribbon for his 1946 Chevrolet truck.In the Special Interest class, Bill Harmon of Tam worth took first place with a customized 1986 Ford FI50 pickup, while second place went to a 1975 Bricklin belonging to Ed Nelson, of Quincy, Mass. Don Haynes of Conway took third place with a 1968 Porsche.Two 1934 Ford street rods took First and second places in the Street Rod class. First place went to Bob Wheeler of Berlin and second place to Allah Wheeler of Milan. Third place went to Dave Edwards of Conway for his 1929 Ford convertible street rod.
