Hilly the Hid.’*Frank lllacklidge, who after living;several vears in the mountains of *Colorado, spent a day in tins city on his way to the Southern country. lie has seen considerable of Charlie Allison, Hilly Le Roy and Ike Stockton’s gangs in the San Juan country. He was in Arnargo. the terminus of the San Juan extension of the I), k R. C. R’y. when Allison “held up” variou-stray people and took in several stores and saloons. lie reports that he saw Billr “the Kid” in a dance hall in Amargo. lie described “the Kid” perfectly oml is certain that it was t he Hilly of New Mexico about which so much has been said during the past live or six niou'hs. This Billv was equiped for business, being armed with r, pair ot six rdiooters and three belts of cartridges. lie was no: exactly nervous, but took great precaution that no one should come up behind him. He was accompanied by three of “hi* men,” and Blaeklidgo was given to understand that Hilly had a gaug of seven men camped just outside the town. He hud heard a great ileal concerning “the Kid” and was naturally curious to know it it whs in reality the notorious pcrsou-ag * of Lincoln county and was assured bv those whom be had faith to believe could establish his identity, that the voung fellow was the hero of many an encounter and a chap full of “sand.” It ih reported that Hilly has it “in” for Allison and thai the latter is afraid of him.
