PUBLIC MEETING-According to previous notice a portion of the Constitutional Union Party of Floyd county, assembled in Rome on the 3d inst. for the purpose of appointing delegates to the Senatorial Convention to be held at the Floyd Springs on the day designated by the Gordon meeting, H. V. M. Mili.br, was called to the Chair, and' John A. Johnson, appointed Secretary.On motion of W. C. Brandon, Resolved. That the Chairman of this meeting appoint two delegates from each Captain’s district in Floyd County, to represent said county in the Senatorial Convention to be held at the Floyd Springs, (provided the several districts in said county fail to make appointments; composed of delegates from the counties of Gordon, Chattooga nnd Floyd.Whereupon the Chairman appointed the following delegates, which appointment wasunanimously confirmed by tho meeting.Etowah Dist,—Frank. W. Ayer and Bryan Allen.Watters Dist.—Dr. W. C. Brandon, Bur-well Aycock.California Dist.—Rollin Speers, Thompson M. Henson.Dirt Town.—Jesse New, Willis Sillman.North Carolina.—Thos. S. Price, Wm. Berry hill •Cave Spring—Mathews Ellis, R. P. Simmons.Vann’s Valley.—John Griffin, James M.P. Ware.Tulio Dist.—Bennett Lawreftce, Jobe Rogers.Rome.—George S. Black, N. J. Omberg.The following resolution was unanimously adopted.Resolved, That we will support the nominee of said Convention 'if fairly made) nnd use all honorable means to secure his election.H. V. M.
