LindquistSCOBEY — Cari Lindquist, 77, lawyer. farroer, and former Montana Supreme Court Justice o5 Scobey, died Thursday morning in Daniels Memorial Hospital.He began his law practice in Daniels County in 1928, and retired in 1P71. He had served three terms as a state senator, and was chief justice of Die state Supreme Court in Helena in 1946 and 1947. He was operating his farm aL the time of his death. .He was bora March 7. 1899, in PavnesvUle, Minn. He graduated in 1928 from the University of North Dakota law school. He married Beth Stoffel Aug. 20, 1935, in Orr, ND.He served in the Air Corps during the first World War. -Mr. Lindquist was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Lion’s Club. Legion and VFW Posts, all of Scobey, and the Montana Bar Association.Survivors include the widow of Scobey; and two sisters, Katherine McEvilla of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Florence Bid-well of Tampa, Florida.Services will be at 2 p.m.' Monday in the Methodist Churchi The Rev. Michael Ptmke and the Rev. Marilyn Punke officiating.Burial will be in Scobey Cemetery.Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
