Judge dismisses injunction try in church fussMERIDIAN, Miss. (UPJ)-Chan-cellor William Neville Monday dismissed injunction proceedings against the Rev. Delmar Dennis, a minister of the Southern Methodist Church. The judge ruled that it would be “vain and foolish to hear injunction proceedings against Dennis because of a “good faith assurance by Dennis that he had withdrawn from the An t i o c h church at Martin for good.He dismissed a petition filed by Methodist minister Carl Me Am and four members of the Antioch church which sought to restrain Dennis from interfering with religious activities of the church.Since the suit was filed, Dennis has moved his services to the Martin community center, which is next door to the church.Dennis had bolted from the parent Methodist church and attempted to lead the Antioch church and another Lauderdale County rural church into the Southern Methodist affiliation which preaches segregation of the races.
