at State Fair KitchenSyracuse.—The New York Indians will erect an old-time Indian soup kitchen at the state fair this year, according to the announcement of Walter Kennedy, president of the joint Cornell Indian boards and representative of the Allegany reservation. The committee headed by chief William Rockwell in cooperation with* Dr. Erl A. Bates, advisor in Indian extension at Cornell University, made the plan which is approved by the tribes. The homemakers led by Mrs. Minnie Shenandoah of the Onondagas have chosen an old-fashioned menu. Woodchuck pie, blue-berry waffles, old-time corn and bean soup, Indian breads, Johnny cake and other samples of Indian cookery are to be served to fair visitors at cost.
