Hat By Parcel Post.Miss Goldie Gibbs has been, waiting for a few days for a hat from Graves millinery store in Peoria. She exeeted it by parcel post and every day she made a special trip to the postoffice in the hopes of getting it. Tuesday she went into the office as usual and asked, 44Did my hat come ?’’ “Yes/- answered Wilma McNut* as she handed her out a box over the top of the partition. ‘*0h, I'm so glad. It’s just the dearesi little liat you ever saw” she said as she tried to break the string. “Hand me a knife, girls, and I'll show it to you.” By this time the cord came loose br d Goldie unwrapped several layers of tissue paper expostul^i-ting on the beauties of the hat as she did so. Her face was a blank when she pulled the hat out. There was an old fashioned head cage about two feet high trimmed in straw and satin roses. She looked up to make an apology to the girls but when -she found them both splitting their sides in laughter she knew she had been the victim of a cruel joke. Merrill Buck and Wilma McNutt, with the able assistance of Dave Breen, had rigged up the liat box just for a joke. Goldie promised to set ’em up if they wouldn’t tell it but the story was too good to keep.
