The April term of the Greene cir cuit court closed last Saturday and Judge C.E. Henderson went to Sulli van Monday morning, where he con vened the June term of circuit court. During the past five weeks court business has fairly sizzled and the number of cases on the civil docket has been materially reduced. Be sides the disposition of much civil business two murder cases have been tried, which occupied almost a week to each case. The trial of John Cox, a miner, who was tantalized and bluffed and threatened, until he was scared into killing a fellow miner, John Bra zelle, at Linton, a few weeks ago, terminated in the jury finding Cox guilty of murder in the second de gree and returning a verdict of life imprisonment. The jury realized the importance of its oath and re turned a verdict in keeping with the awful crime of murder. A motion for a new trial was made, which will be argued at the September term of court, and awaiting the argment, Cox was taken to Sullivan and lodged in jail for safe keeping. Purchased Store, J. B. Dillon and Fred Stantz, of Switz City, have purchased the gen eral store of Allen Bros., at Brook lyn, a thriving town on the J. W. railroad near Bethany Park. Sev eral modern brick and tile manu factories have been established there within a very short time and the Standard Oil Co. have a pumping station on their pipe line near Brooklyn.
