TSxiivillt' by the Acting Governor anda large number of respectable citizensthe state of Indiana. While the Generalwas crossing the river three companies ofartillery, stationed on its hanks were employed in firing salutes. On his landing hewas escorted by them and a large concourse of citizens to the house of the late Gov. Posey, where he was welcomed to the statein an appropriate addresss by the ActingGovernor; to which he replied in a very impressive manner, impressing his gratitude for the affection so universally exhibited towards him, and his satisfaction at the flourishing state of this country so latelya wilderness. After spending three orfour hours in rnnveisatton witli those who were presented to him, tlie company satdown, at 3 o’clock, P. M. to ari excellentdinner, prepared by Aiaj. Fuller, A spirit of union and harmony prevailed till the company separated, w hen the General wasescorted across the river to Louisville a little before evening. Among the invitedguests on the occasion w«*m Governor Carroll, of Tennessee, and Mes-rs. Larry, Rowan, and W jckliffe, oi Ky.
