Forty YearsMinistryCelebrated This SundayIt tfas back in the year. 1925, June 7, in St. Alban*, then the Cathedral of the Diocese of Toronto, that the Rev. CanoD E. Ralph Ad ye was ordained as Deacon by the Late Archbishop Feiiding Sweeny, was made priest in 1926 and was appointed to the parish of Kinnomy where he spent the first three years of his ministry.In 1928 he went to St. Peter’s, Cobourg for two years as assistant rector of .AM Saints, Whitby for eleven years. He went overseas as chaplain in 1941 serving in England, Italy, Holland and Germany returning in 1SM6. He was for two years assistant at St. Olaves, Swansea In 1M8 he became rector of All Saints, Col-Jingwood for seven years. In 1955 he was appointed district secretary for Montreal and Quebec Canadian Bible Society. From 1958 to 1962 he w'as senior secretary of the Upper Canada District. Canadian Bible Society. Toronto.In 1962 he was appointed as assistant rector of St. John’s Anglican Church, Weston. He has been active for 40 years inIspiritual leadership. He servedfor 27 years on the DiocesanBoard of Christian Educationmaking a real contribution to thework. He was a member for 12years of the Mission Board andfive years Chairman of the Wy-cliffe Committee of graduation,and President of the WycliffeAlumini Convocation in 1961 and 1962. He was also a member of the Diocesan Committee of evangelism and Spiritual Advance for 22 years and District Chaplain Masonic in 1947. Thus he has served his church with diligence over his period of 40 years. He found time to serve the Canadian I^egion in variouscapacities on committees.0Canon Adye was born in London, England and received part of his education there. He continued in Hamilton, and took his University work at the University of Toronto and Wycliffe College. •In 1916 he served in the First Great War overseas in England and France returning in 1919.(Continued on page 6)
