Entire Grade Made Good Marks, But Ten Were Considerably Above The Average Ten Sandy eighth grade students succeeded in registering scores above 300 in the Central Pennsylvania Standard County Tests given to the entire class of seventy-seven stud ents on May 21, Sandy Schools Superintendent, W. D. Weaver announced that recognit ion is due the following pupils for their outstanding completion of the tests: Erma Bogle, Clair Clyde, Don ald Johnston, Paul Mackin, Marjorie Patchell, Jean Read, Leona Rea singer, Marian Weber, Ronald Wil son and Jack Wolka. The CPSCT test, known as the “Peace Test,” is part of an experimental program conducted in thirty-eight counties in Central Pennsylvania. The test, composed of 400 points, included queries on music, art, read ing, and literature, health, history, and civics, geography and science, language, and grammar, spelling and arithmetic. The average score for the seventy seven Sandy Wilson th grade class was 222, with the highest point re corded by a Wilson pupil being 379. Teachers assisting with the ad ministration and correction of pap ers in the Sandy experiment were Mr. George Ashenfelter, Wilson School principal; Miss Erma Con nor, Miss Bmily McCausland, and Mrs. Dorothy Jeffrey, faculty mem bers.
