Miss Mclntire joined the college as librarian in 1909, shortly after Per graduation from the University of Illinois with A. B and B.L.S. degrees.In 1921 a full time library assistant was added to the faculty sbe rnlgbt take over the office of registrar. During three interims between presidents Miss. Mclntire has been on the guiding committee which assumed the full responsibility required of a president. In the spring of 1940 the board of trustees gave her the rank of full professor. In the fall of that year, upon the death of Dean Titt, Miss Mclntire was made acting dean of the college for the school year.MissMcIntire during the year™'Hi44 ~was • president on . the North Central' Association of Deans- and Registrars for the northwest region which includes Minnesota, North and faoutn Dakota and Iowa. She has served both as president and as secretary of the South Dakota Library Association. She as also a member of the American Library Association and o_ two national honorary societies.
