William Barrett Receives Bad Wound in Fight Last Night. In a fight on South Market street Tuesday evening, William Barrett, a farmer residing near Bear Creek, had a narrow escape from death by having his throat cut with a razor in the hands of Allen Murphy. The men were quar reling and fighting when Murphy drew a razor and made a slash at Barrett, inflicting a severe cut on the lower side of the jaw. Had the cut been an inch lower it would probably have re sulted in death. Barrett was taken to the office of Dr. A. O. Williams, where the wound was dressed. Murphy was lodged in jail and will have a hearing before Judge Moun this morning.
